Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team driver Charle Leclerc looks set to join Sebastian Vettel at Scuderia Ferrari according to the BBC.

The BBC report that the Frenchman who has been one of the stand-out performers this season has agreed a two year contact with the Maranello based outfit although the contract has not yet been signed.

Should the deal be signed it would Kimi Raikkonen make way for the Monacan. Paddock Eye understands that although he has refused to comment on the matter, Raikkonen could be on the verge of returning to McLaren for next season if Fernando Alonso decides to move on at the end of the season.

Paddock Eye understands that Mercedes will announce a two year contract extension with defending champion Lewis Hamilton with Valtteri Bottas staying with the team for a third year in the build up to next weekend’s British Grand Prix.

This Mercedes deal would then trigger Daniel Ricciardo announcing a new contract with Aston Martin Racing for 2019.
