English racing driver Katherine Legge has confirmed that she will not compete in the 109th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge next month.
Legge has decided to shift her focus to the NASCAR CUP SERIES and Xfinity Series.
Legge, an established and resilient global competitor, will drive for Team Chevy, racing a split schedule in NASCAR Xfinity Series with Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito Autosport and NASCAR Cup with Live Fast Motorsports. Last week, e.l.f. Cosmetics, from e.l.f. Beauty (NYSE: ELF), announced its renewed sponsorship of Legge. By joining forces, this powerhouse combination provides Legge the opportunity to increase her experience in stock car racing.
Legge made seven INDYCAR starts with Dale Coyne Racing in 2024 and speaking about her shift to NASCAR she says:
It’s been quite a week, having just announced that e.l.f. Cosmetics will pivot alongside me as primary sponsors into stockcars and now being able to announce support from my amazing partners Droplight, Sherfick Companies and Desnuda Tequila. “This should signal to people that we’re serious, and we’re here to make a name for ourselves.
It will be the first time since 2022 that there won’t be a female driver in the field for the Greatest Spectacle In Racing.
