Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series driver Jimmie Johnson may be getting an email or call from a IndyCar Series team owner in the near future.
Johnson who drives for Hendrick Motorsports was in Bahrain on Monday testing for the McLaren Formula One Team confirmed that he is interested in running a partial schedule in the IndyCar Series in 2020.
Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing team co-owner Bobby Rahal responded to this by saying:
Lets get him.
Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing expanded to a two a car full-time programme in IndyCar for the 2018 season and has said that he would be interested under the right circumstances to expand to a three car operation.
Johnson is under contract with Hendrick Motorsports until 2020 which gives Rahal and other IndyCar teams to come up with a plan for the American. Time will tell what happens so watch this space.
