Former Formula One driver turned TV pundit Johnny Herbert days that defending Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton is best of best in the sport at the moment and that he sees no reason why Hamilton can’t equal Michael Schumacher’s record of seven titles.
Speaking at the Autosport International Show on Saturday the former Benetton driver said that Valtteri Bottas is a team player and he knows that his loyalty will be paid back by the team for supporting Lewis Hamilton.
Herbert said that he believes that Charles Leclerc is consistent and that for 2020, Red Bull and Ferrari have to optimise what they have and make sure they have a strong start to the season, with Ferrari, Herbert said that the team need to make sure that they have to settle both Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc to ensure that they get the best results possible for the team.
In terms of Valtteri Bottas he is not sure whether or not the Finn has the consistency to be able to challenge Lewis Hamilton for the championship in 2020.
Herbert believes that going into 2020, Mercedes have the advantage and it is up to the other teams to close the gap however he also says that we won’t know for sure what everyone has until they turn up to Barcelona for winter testing.
