Bryan Herta Autosport announced on Thursday that the defending series champion Michael Lewis will not compete in next weekend’s IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season finale, the Fox Factory 120 at Road Atlanta.
Michael is recovering from an injury sustained in an incident in the closing laps of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway 240 on September 16th.
Michael continues treatment and has not been medically cleared to compete next week. Team owner Bryan Herta said:
“Our focus and priority remain on Michael’s health, so while we are disappointed not to have him in our car alongside Taylor Hagler next weekend, we understand that his full and complete recovery is most important. We will evaluate our options for a substitute driver to stand in for Michael in the coming days’.
