The Verizon IndyCar Series are in for another cracking qualifying session at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach later today following and extremely interesting day of track action on Friday.
Scott Dixon led a Honda charge on Friday morning while in the afternoon it was Will Power in the No.12 Verizon Chevrolet who led the way.
As Scott Dixon said on Friday however the times on the opening day don’t mean anything. Honda made up two of the three podium places at the season opening Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg last month however Chevrolet certainly at this moment in time have matched their performances.
At this track last year Chevrolet led the way with a 1,2,3 in the race however with Ganassi now back with Honda and the improvements they made over the winter they could be heading to victory lane on Sunday.
Qualifying for the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach gets underway at 11:30pm (Irish time) tonight.
