The new all-female W Series which had its first public appearance at the Autosport International Show this weekend has had lots of interest from visitors to the event this weekend.

Former Formula One driver David Coulthard is involved the series and speaking to Paddock Eye on Friday at the Autosport International Show, the Scot said that the aim is to help drivers further their careers without the addition of the financial burden.

The series is unique in that the drivers selected to race don’t have to bring money with them to race.

Paddock Eye spoke to Australian racing driver Kaitlin Wood on Sunday morning at the Autosport International Show and she is excited about the series particularly if she is selected to compete in the inaugural season as it will give her extra track time and help her to achieve her goal of competing in 24 Hours of LeMans in 2020.

The inaugural W Series season kicks off in Hockenheim from May 3 – 5 and ends in Brands Hatch on from August 10 -11.
