TAG Heuer Porsche driver Andre Lotterer was fastest as ABB FIA Formula E pre-season testing got underway on Saturday in Valencia. Lotterer who set a fastest time of 01:12.529s and speaking following the action he commented saying:
P1 is always a good thing. “But the priority was to find out more about the car and get through our testing programme. We almost managed to do everything we wanted to do today. It’s a never-ending process to find a better car balance and we’re never happy. There’s plenty to do better and it’s a tight gap to P2, so we need to keep working hard in the next few days
Jean Eric Vergne and defending ABB FIA Formula E champion, Antonio Felix Da Costa of DS Techteeh were second and third respectively just ahead of Evision Virgin Racing’s Nick Cassidy who set a fastest time of 01:12.689s ending the day just ahead of Mahindra Racing’s Alexander Sims.
Audi Sport’s Rene Rast was sixth fastest with a time of 01:12.740s while Norman Nato of ROKiT Venturi Racing was seventh fastest with a time of 01:12.777s.
Nico Muller was eighth for Dragon Penske Autosport with a time of 01:12.800s just ahead of BMW I Andretti Motorsports Jake Dennis while Robin Frijns rounded out the top ten for Envision Virgin Racing who set a fastest time of 01:12.869s. Lucas Di Grassi was eleventh for Audi.
Nissan e.DAMS Sebastian Buemi was 12th just ahead of Maximillian Gunther of BMW I Andretti Motorsport. Oliver Rowland was 14th just ahead of Mercedes Stoffel Vandoorne and Jaguar Racing’s Sam Bird.
Porsche’s Pascal Wehrlein was 17th just ahead of Alex Lynn and Sergio Sette Camara while Mercedes Benz Nyck De Vries rounded out the top 20 with a time of 01:13.575s ending the day just ahead of NIO 333’s Oliver Turvey and Jaguar Racing’s Mitch Evans. Edoardo Mortara was 23rd for ROKiT Venturi Racing while Timo Blomqvist rounded out the order for NIO 333 with a time of 01:16.015s/
