TWG Group and General Motors announced on Thursday ahead of this weekend’s season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix that they have appointed Graeme Lowdon as Team Principal of the Cadillac Formula One Team who will make their debut in 2026.

Speaking about the news, Lowdon, who has been with the team since the idea came about commented saying:

I’m truly honored to be appointed as the Team Principal of this exciting new team and I would like to thank everyone involved for placing their trust in me, I believe that Formula 1 is the greatest team sport in the world, and teams are all about people. This is a team with a real love for, and desire to go, racing, and we have the experience and expertise to do just that. Racing is at the very heart of everything that we do. This is what I want to see in a team, and I really want to be part of it. I don’t underestimate the task ahead and I have the utmost respect for the competition. I look forward to the challenge of racing. In the meantime, our work continues at pace.”

As Mario Andretti confirmed to Paddock Eye last week, Lowdon has been with the team based in Silverstone since the first began the process of entering Formula One.

Lowdon has plenty of experience and knowledge of Formula One having been CEO of the Manor Marussia Formula One Team.

Crucially Lowdon negotiated to Ferrari engines for Manor and this is the preferred engine supplier for Cadillac according to Andretti so hopefully the previous relationship with Ferrari through Lowdon will help Cadillac get their engine supply sorted.
