Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Christian Lundgaard says that the pace has been there as he ended the final test session ahead of qualifying for $1 million Challenge at The Thermal Club in California first with a time of 01:38.2199s ending the afternoon just ahead of Will Power in the No.12 Verizon Business Team Penske Chevrolet while Scott McLaughlin was 3rd.

The afternoon session was delayed due to a dust storm. Pato O’Ward was fifth just ahead of Callum Ilott in what was a great session for Arrow McLaren. Colton Herta was seventh just ahead of Romain Grosjean and Rinus VeeKay. Alex Palou rounded out the top ten in the No.10 Ridgeline Lubricants DHL Chip Ganassi Racing Honda rounded out the top ten.

Championship leader Josef Newgarden in the No.2 Hitachi Team Penske Chevrolet was 11th fastest with a time of 01:39.1363s ending the session just ahead of six-time series champion Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda who recovered from an early spin to finish in 12th place.

Marcus Ericsson was 13th just ahead of Agustin Canapino and Marcus Armstrong while Pietro Fittipaldi was 16th just ahead of Meyer Shank Racing team duo of Tom Blomqvist and Felix Rosenqvist.

Christian Rasmussen was 19th just ahead of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Graham Rahal in the No.15 Code 3 Associates Honda. Linus Ludqvist was 21st just ahead of AJ Foyt Racing’s Santino Ferruci and Kyle Kirkwood who was 24th just ahead of Colin Braun. Nolan Siegel was 26th just ahead of AJ Foyt Racing’s Sting Ray Robb who rounded out the order in 27th place.
