M-Sport’s Elfyn Evans picked up on Saturday morning from where he left off on Friday at Rally GB in Wales by leading the way. At the end of SS12, Evans holds a 56.7s lead over team mate Ott Tanak.
Speaking following the morning’s action, Evans commented by saying:
We couldn’t have asked for a better morning and the conditions have been near enough exactly what we wanted. It’s still not been easy out there, but we’ve had a good rhythm, and a good feeling with the car. There are some more tricky stages to come, so let’s keep at it and see what we can do.
Ott Tanak is currently in third place having lost out on second place to Thierry Neuville and commenting on his run, Tanak commented by saying:
Thierry [Neuville] has been really quick today and is pushing hard for sure. The grip is okay and the car is handling okay so it’s not been a bad morning for us. Let’s just wait and see what happens this afternoon.
Sebastien Ogier who is currently leading the championship heads into the afternoon in fourth place and speaking afterwards he commented by saying:
It’s been another tricky morning and a difficult one to judge. For sure I could take more risks, but we need to think about the bigger picture. It’s not been a bad morning, and we’ll stay focused on the job in hand.
