M Sport Ford WRC Team drivers Gus Greensmith, Teemu Suninen and Esapekka Lappi say they are confident going into this weekend’s 2020 FIA World Rally Championship season ending ACI Rally Monza.
It has been a difficult season for M-Sport but the trio say that the conditions in Monza at the moment should play into their favour and to the strengths of the Ford Fiesta WRC. M Sport head into the final event of the season in third place in the Manufacturers championship on 117 points.
The team will be aiming to end the season on a high note and something to build on heading into 2021. Speaking to Paddock Eye during a media conference call on Wednesday evening, M Sport’s drivers said they were looking to competing on the first asphalt rally of the season and that they believe that the weather will play a key factor in the outcome of the rally.
There is snow is Monza at the moment however as M Sport Team Principal Richard Millener said it is not sticking at the moment which means that it will make road conditions very slippery.
