M-Sport Ford Team Principal Malcolm Wilson says that he is unclear what the future holds for his company’s involvement in the FIA World Rally Championship.

The FIA has set Friday as the deadline for entries for the 2019 FIA World Rally Championship at the season opening Rally Monte Carlo.

Wilson has confirmed however that he is not in a position to lodge his entry for the new season as the Cumbria based outfit simply don’t have the financial resources in place at the moment to make such an announcement.

Wilson has also confirmed that although they won the World Rally Championship with Sebastien Ogier it was expensive for the team.

Ogier has returned to Citroën Racing for the 2019 season.

The 2019 World Rally Championship season will be launched on Super Saturday at next month’s Autosport International Show at Birmingham’s NEC Arena.
