Dale Coyne Racing with HMD Motorsports David Malukas has confirmed that he will leave Dale Coyne Racing with HMD Motorsports at the end of the 2023 NTT INDYCAR SERIES.
Following the opening practice session of the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix on the streets of Nashville, Malukas said that his and Dale Coyne’s ideas for next season didn’t align, which is ok with Malukas. The Chicago driver confirmed that his future in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES does not hinge on Alex Palou and he is speaking with another team and, as of yet, has not signed any deal.
Malukas ended the day in seventh place with a time of 01:17.1536s.
Speaking to Paddock Eye following practice Malukas spoke about the circuit.
No, it’s definitely not more. If anything, it’s very similar. I think getting on and off the bridge might be slightly better from what I remember last year.
Last year I remember having big, big moments going into four. This year not as many. Maybe they’ve helped a little bit on that perspective.
But overall very similar. Yeah, actually wasn’t too bad.
Following practice, do you have any expectations going into the weekend?
I mean, we’ve kind of been on a consistent trend I feel like these past few races. I feel like we want to keep onto that.
Our goal from the start of this season, if we get a top 10 finish by the end of the race, we’ll be ecstatic. I think that will be a very good result for us. I think that stays going into this weekend.
