Dale Coyne Racing with HMD Motorsports David Malukas in the No.18 HMD Motorsports Honda will start Sunday’s Honda Indy Toronto from 17th place after receiving a penalty for impeding Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon.

Speaking following the on track action, Malukas said:

Going into qualifying, I think we had a good set up with our car. We knew we’d have the car where we wanted it to be with the understeer once we went out on the alternate tire. But in the end, we got caught out by the rain and we also got a penalty that cost us our two fastest laps so that cost us what I think would have been a good qualifying result today.”

Sting Ray Robb in the No.51 Biohaven Honda starts the race from 23rd place and speaking following the action he commented saying:

For my first qualifying here at Toronto, we didn’t get the result we wanted. The Dale Coyne Racing team continues to work well and we continue to learn and make progress, it’s just not showing up on the result sheets. The rain at the end of our session added another element to it, we’ll see what happens tomorrow. We’ll have to learn quickly if it does rain tomorrow but if not, we’re going to be quick in the dry.”
