Dale Coyne Racing announced on Tuesday that Pippa Mann will complete their driver line-up for the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil in May.
Mann, will start her seventh Indianapolis 500 driving the No.63 Donate Life Indiana Honda.
The London native is one of four drivers for Dale Coyne Racing at this years Indianapolis 500 joining Sebastien Bourdais, Pierto Fittipaldi and Conor Day at the team for the May 27th race.
Speaking at the announcement, Donate Life Indiana board chairman Steve Johnson commented by saying:
Our education team is committed to partnering with Pippa and students and teachers across the state to bring the message of organ donation and transplantation to as many students as possible.
Mann commented on the news saying:
“I am honored to have been asked to drive the Donate Life car this May, and to partner with Donate Life Indiana as an ambassador to raise awareness on our mission to help reach even more Hoosiers through our education efforts. “This is obviously a campaign with a pretty deep personal meaning for me, and I am humbled to have the opportunity to join the racers carrying this cause forward.
Mann who holds the official record of being the fastest female driver on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway went on to thank team owner Dale Coyne and his wife Gail:
I also want to thank Dale and Gail Coyne for once again giving me this opportunity to pilot one of their entries this May. This will be my sixth year with Dale Coyne Racing and I’m truly grateful that they allow me to do this every year.
Dale Coyne Racing have had a fantastic start to the 2018 Verizon IndyCar Series season with Sebastien Bourdais having taken victory at the season opening Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg.
Speaking about the addition of Mann to their line-up for the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil, team owner Dale Coyne commented by saying:
