Former Formula One champion and Verizon IndyCar Series driver Niger Mansell has told Paddock Eye that he hopes Formula One can reach the depth of competition of the Verizon IndyCar Series.

The 1992 world champion was speaking during the final day of the 2018 Autosport International Show.

When asked by Paddock Eye about the new Verizon IndyCar, Mansell said he has yet to see the new car.

Mansell’s comments about F1 racing with the depth of competition of IndyCar come following Haas F1 Team principal Gunther Steiner’s comments that no American drivers are ready for Formula One.
