The Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced on Monday, less than 24 hours after the chequered flag flew on Josef Newgarden winning back-to-back Indianapolis 500 races that the 2025 event will take place on Sunday, May 25.
Fans who had tickets for the race this year can renew their tickets for the 109th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge until Monday, June 17, approximately 500 hours since the chequered flag flew on Sunday’s Greatest Spectacle In Racing.
Indianapolis Motor Speedway President J Douglas Boles said:
The waving of the green flag is one of the most powerful and exciting moments in all of sports as it signals the start of the Indianapolis 500 in front of more than 330,000. “This year the green flag represents another important race as our fans race to renew or request seat upgrades by the June 17 deadline.”
