Elfyn Evans’ co-driver Scott Martin has dedicated the pair’s victory in Rally Croatia on Sunday to his friend and former teammate Craig Breen. The Irishman died last Thursday following an accident while testing for this weekend’s event.
Martin scored his first FIA World Rally Championship podium with Craig Breen in Finland in 2016 when the pair were teammates at the works Citroen WRC Team.
Taking to Facebook following the rally, Scott Martin said:
It’s been a demanding and emotional weekend but incredibly special to win this one. Craig and I had our first WRC podium together so it’s fitting that we can be on the top step today to pay tribute to him.
It’s been a tough weekend for so many people, we’ve tried to enjoy the competition and have fun. I think we can be proud of how everyone in the WRC has come together, supported each other and paid respect to Craig this weekend. #ForCraig 💚🤍🧡
