The Williams Martini Racing Team confirmed on Monday that Felipe Massa will come out of retirement to replace Valtteri Bottas who has joined Mercedes. Massa will partner rookie driver Lance Stroll and the Brazilian is looking forward to working with the Canadian.
Massa will be able to use his experience to help Stroll find his feet. Speaking at the Autosport International Show on Sunday, Claire Williams said that Stroll’s feedback so far has been really good.
Massa goes into his fourth season as a Williams driver and will push new driver Lance Stroll who makes his Formula One debut with the Grove based outfit in Australia in March.
Claire Williams, deputy team principal with Williams Martini Racing says that Massa’s return to the team gives them stability, experience and talent. Strolll has spent a considerable amount of time in recent months preparing for Formula One in the Williams simulator along with driving a two year old Williams F1 car.
