Williams Martini Racing’s Felipe Massa has confirmed that he has been told by the team that he will be allowed to keep his Brazilian Grand Prix chassis after coming out of retirement to replace Valtteri Bottas for the 2017 Formula One season.

Massa retired from Formula One at the end of last season and was replaced at the Grove based outfit by Canadian rookie Lance Stroll.

The Brazilian admitted that he was a little surprised to get the call from deputy team principal Claire Williams asking him if he would come out of Formula One retirement to race for the team once again in 2017. Massa has also stated that he is fully motivated and looking forward to working with his new team mate Lance Stroll.
