The Harding Steinbrenner Racing team have received a massive boost during their first full time season in the NTT IndyCar Series with the news that renewable energy company GESS International and Capstone will serve as primary sponsor to Colton Herta’s No.88 Honda for the rest of the season.
Speaking to the Associated Press in Fort Worth ahead of tonight’s DXC Technology 600 at Texas Motor Speedway, Harding Steinbrenner Racing team president Brian Barnhart said:
To get those two companies to come aboard in-season with a multimillion dollar commitment, which will certainly allow us to continue to participate for the rest of this year more comfortably than we were able to do anything last year, that makes you feel great
The welcome news puts to bed speculation regarding the team’s future participation in the sport and allows them the freedom to develop their car and plan for 2020.
Colton Herta in the No.88 GESS Capstone Honda who took his maiden race win at the Circuit Of The Americas in Austin earlier this season will roll of 10th for tonight’s DXC Technology 600 at Texas Motor Speedway after setting a two lap average speed of 218.406MPH.
