AJ Foyt Racing’s Chris McFadden has been released from hospital following an accident during the final round of pit-stops in Sunday’s Hy-Vee Salute To Farmers 300 presented by Google.
Despite initial reports that he suffered multiple fractures the team confirmed that McFadden just received heavy brusing in the incident.
It remains to be seen if McFadden will be back with the team for this weekend’s Gallagher Grand Prix of Indianapolis.
In a statement, AJ Foyt Racing told Paddock Eye:
Left rear tire changer and team trainer Chris McFadden, who was struck by Dalton Kellett’s car during the final round of pit stops, was released from the hospital last night. McFadden did not have any broken bones but he did have a deep laceration to his left thigh and significant bruising. McFadden stayed in a Des Moines area hotel last night. Fellow crewman Mark Stewart is bringing him back to Indianapolis today. McFadden’s return to action is undetermined at this time.
