McLaren CEO Zak Brown has confirmed that the company are looking into a full-time return to the Verizon IndyCar Series as early as 2019.

Speaking to the IndyCar Radio Network ahead of race two of the Chevrolet Dual in Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix presented by Lear, Brown said that he had positive meetings this weekend with IndyCar officials and that everyone in the paddock and the fans have been extremely well.

When asked if Fernando Alonso would be their driver in the Verizon IndyCar Series in 2019, Brown said it was too early to tell but that drivers are being considered.
