McLaren Racing’s complete acquisition of the Arrow McLaren NTT INDYCAR SERIES team is a big step for the team, who are set to move into Andretti Global’s soon-to-be former race shop on Zionsville Road, Indianapolis. The team has outgrown its current base on Coffman Road with three cars full-time in the series, with a fourth for the Indianapolis 500.

The full takeover of the team by the Woking-based McLaren Racing operation was completed at the end of 2024. Speaking earlier this week following the news of the acquisition, McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown said:

“This is an exciting step for McLaren Racing as we grow and strengthen our presence in North America, which is a very important market for our team and our fans. Sam Schmidt and Ric Peterson have been great partners and co-owners, and I want to thank them as we continue to build what they started many years ago, and that is a championship caliber NTT INDYCAR SERIES team.”

Arrow McLaren has Pato O’Ward, Christian Lundgaard, and Nolan Siegel for the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season, and the team hopes that they will be able to challenge for the championship and the Indianapolis 500 with Pato O’Ward having come close to winning the Greatest Spectacle In Racing in recent seasons.

Pato O’Ward was the lead Arrow McLaren driver in 2024, finishing the season in fifth place in the championship with three wins, ending the year on 460 points, having led 199 laps for the season.
