Team Penske’s Scott McLaughlin in the No.3 Pennzoil Chevrolet was fastest in Sunday morning practice ahead of the Fast 12 and last chance qualifying with a speed of 233.553MPH. In contrast, Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda was second quickest with a speed of 233.240MPH while Arrow McLaren’s Pato O’Ward of Arrow McLaren’s Pato O’Ward was third with a 232.792MPH.
Meyer Shank Racing’s Felix Rosenqvist in the No.60 Creed Honda was fourth fastest with a speed of 232.734MPH, just ahead of defending NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Alex Palou, who set a 232.235MPH in the No.10 DHL Chip Ganassi Racing Honda.
Christian Lundgaard in the No.7 VELO Chevrolet for Arrow McLaren was sixth with a 232.017MPH just ahead of defending Indianapolis 500 winner Josef Newgarden in the No.2 Shell V Power Nitro Plus Team Penske Chevrolet, who set a 231.839MPH while Will Power and David Malukas were eighth and ninth, respectively.
Takuma Sato rounded out the top ten for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing while Marco Andretti was 11th just ahead of Dale Coyne Racing’s Rinus VeeKay and Jacob Abel.
PREMA Racing’s Robert Schwartzman and Andretti Global’s Marcus Ericsson decided not to run in practice.
