Scott McLaughlin in the No.3 Pennzoil Team Penske Chevrolet says he is fine after his big crash in practice for the 109th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge on Sunday.

Yeah, I’m fine. I’m just really, really, really, really sorry for everybody at Team Penske and the guys on the (No.) 3 car, and everybody on the 2, 12 and everyone who builds these cars. It was talking to me and I sort of felt it and I should have backed out. But, you know you are trying to complete a run to see what it feels like, and was it worth the risk. It probably wasn’t. I’m incredibly sad. (Watches the crash) You just try and brace yourself and hope you don’t go in the catch fence. I’m very grateful to INDYCAR for the safety. My team and the SAFER Barriers kept me safe.”

McLaughlin starts the Greatest Spectacle In Racing from 10th.

Josef Newgarden starts the race from 11th after failing pre qualifying technical inspection.

Will Power starts the race from 12th in the No.12 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet after failing pre qualifying technical inspection.
