Last year’s pole sitter set a speed of 232.686MPH as teams turned up the boost for qualifying simulations.

Takuma Sato was second for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing but brought out a red flag following a heavy hit.

Will Power was third in the No.12 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet with a speed of 232.278MPH just ahead of Felix Rosenqvist.

Chip Ganassi Racing’s Alex Palou and Scott Dixon rounded out the top six.

Kyle Kirkwood was seventh just ahead of his teammate Colton Herta while defending Indianapolis 500 winner Josef Newgarden was ninth.

It was a great session for Chip Ganassi Racing as their three cars were in the top ten with Kyffin Simpson tenth.

Louis Foster was 11th for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing just ahead of Marcus Ericsson and Sting Ray Robb.

Pato O’Ward was 14th just ahead of Graham Rahal and Marcus Armstrong.

Christian Rasmussen was 17th just ahead of Devlin DeFrancesco.

Conor Daly was 19th for Juncos Hollinger Racing just ahead of Alexander Rossi. Santino Ferrucci in the No.14 Sexton Properties Chevrolet was 21st after losing most of his day on Wednesday due to an engine change.

Christian Lundgaard was 22nd just ahead of Rinus VeeKay and David Malukas.

Dreyer and Reinbold Racing with Cusick Motorsports Ryan Hunter-Reay was 25th respectively with a speed of 226.962MPH.

Robert Shwartzman was 26th just ahead of Jacob Abel and Dreyer and Reinbold Racing with Cusick Motorsports Jack Harvey set a fastest speed of 226.355MPH.

Ed Carpenter was 29th just ahead of Helio Castroneves while Callum Ilott was 31st just ahead of Nolan Siegel and Marco Andretti.

Kyle Larson was 34th and hit the wall so will not be back out this afternoon.
