Scott McLaughlin in the No.3 Freightliner Team Penske Chevrolet led his teammate Josef Newgarden in the second practice session at Portland International Raceway on Saturday.

The New Zealander set a time of 00:58.1516s. Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda was third fastest, having recovered from an earlier spin to be the fastest Honda car.

Graham Rahal had a solid morning ending up in fourth place just ahead of championship leader Alex Palou in the No.10 The American Legion Chip Ganassi Racing Honda, while Rinus VeeKay rounded out the top six.

Marcus Armstrong had a great session in the No.11 Ridgeline Lubricants Honda ending the session in seventh place just ahead of Rahal’s Christian Lundgaard.

Arrow McLaren’s trio of cars, Pato O’Ward, Felix Rosenqvist and Alexander Rossi, were 9th, 10th, and 11th, respectively. Will Power in the No.12 Verizon 5G Team Penske Chevrolet was 12th fastest, just ahead of Marcus Ericsson while Colton Herta was 14th just ahead of Dale Coyne Racing with HMD Motorsports David Malukas.

Romain Grosjean was 16th just ahead of his Andretti Autosport teammates Kyle Kirkwood and Devlin DeFrancesco. Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Juri Vips was 19th just ahead of Callum Ilott.

Helio Castroneves was 21st just ahead of Ryan Hunter Reay and Benjamin Pedersen. Santino Ferrucci was 24th just ahead of Agustin Canapino while Sting Ray Robb brought out a red flag after coming to stop on track. Tom Blomqvist rounded out the order in 27th place.
