Scott McLaughlin in the No.3 Pennzoil Team Penske Chevrolet made history at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday as he scored the pole position for the 108th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge next week by recording the fastest every four-lap average speed around the Brickyard with a speed of 234.220MPH.

For the first time since 1988, Team Penske has locked out the front row. Scott McLaughlin is joined by Will Power in the No.12 Verizon Business Chevrolet. He starts the race from second place with a speed of 233.917MPH while defending Indianapolis 500 winner Josef Newgarden in the No.2 Shell Chevrolet starts third with a fastest four-lap average of 233.808MPH.

Alexander Rossi in the No.7 VELO Chevrolet starts the race from fourth place with a four-lap average speed of 233.090MPH, while NASCAR star Kyle Larson starts his first Indianapolis 500 from fifth place with the fastest time of 232.846MPH. Santino Ferrucci starts the race from 6th place for AJ Foyt Racing with a four-lap average of 232.692MPH.

Rinus VeeKay starts the race in seventh place with a speed of 232.610MPH, while Pato O’Ward starts in eighth place with a four-lap average of 232.584MPH.

Felix Rosenqvist starts the race from ninth place with a speed of 232.305MPH. Takuma Sato starts the race from tenth place for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Honda with a four-lap average of 232.171MPH. Kyle Kirkwood in the No.27 AutoNation Andretti Global Honda starts the race from 11th place with a four-lap average of 230.993MPH.

Dreyer and Reinbold Racing with Cusick Motorsports Ryan Hunter Reay in the No.23 Chevrolet starts the race from 12th place following a four-lap average of 230.567MPH.

Colton Herta in the No.26 Gainbridge Honda starts the race from 13th place with a fastest four-lap average of 232.316MPH while defending series champion Alex Palou in the No.10 DHL Chip Ganassi Racing Honda starts the race from 14th place having been on the pole for this race last season. The Spaniard set a four-lap average speed of 232.306MPH.

Callum Ilott starts the race from 15th place for Arrow McLaren following a four-lap average of 232.230MPH. Marcus Armstrong starts the race from 16th place for Chip Ganassi Racing. Ed Carpenter Racing’s Ed Carpenter starts the race from 17th place following a four-lap average of 232.017MPH while Kyffin Simpson in the No.4 Journie Rewards Chip Ganassi Racing Honda starts his first Indy 500 from 18th place.

Marco Andretti in the No.98 Honda starts the race from 19th place, just ahead of Helio Castroneves, with a four-lap average of 231.890MPH, while Castroneves set a four-lap average of 231.871MPH. Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda starts the race from 21st place after having an engine and gearbox change on Saturday morning and sets a four-lap average of 231.851MPH.

Agustin Canapino starts the race from 22nd place with a four-lap average of 231.847MPH, just 231.847MPH. Sting Ray Robb starts the race from 23rd place for AJ Foyt Racing with a four-lap average of 231.826MPH, while Christian Rasmussen starts the race from 24th place with a four-lap average speed of 231.682MPH.

Tom Blomqvist starts the race in 25th place with a four-lap average speed of 231.578MPH, Romain Grosjean in 26th place with a four-lap average of 231.514MPH, and Linus Lundqvist in 27th place with a four-lap average of 231.506MPH.

Christian Lundgaard starts the race in 28th place. In contrast, Conor Daly in the No.24 Dreyer and Reinbold Racing with Cusick Motorsports starts the race from 29th place just ahead of Pietro Fittipaldi, setting a 231.243MPH while Fittipaldi set a 231.100MPH.

Katherine Legge in the No.51 e.l.f Dale Coyne Racing Honda starts the race from 31st with a fastest four-lap average of 230.092MPH. Marcus Ericsson starts the race from 32nd place with a four-lap average of 230.027MPH while Graham Rahal rounds out the order in 33rd place with a four-lap average of 229.974MPH.

Dale Coyne Racing’s Nolan Siegel was bumped from the field and will not start the Greatest Spectacle In Racing. There is a practice session on Monday before the final practice on Carb Day while the 108th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge takes place on Sunday, May 26.
