Defending Virgin Australia Supercar champion Scott McLaughlin was back in NTT IndyCar Series action on Friday.

The New Zealander who took part in the full field test at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin Texas on Tuesday and Wednesday was back in action on Friday for the rookie oval test.

McLaughlin in the No.2 Team Penske Chevrolet was joined at the test by Arrow McLaren SP’s Oliver Askew, Dale Coyne Racing’s Alex Palou and Ed Carpenter Racing’s Rinus Veekay.

Paddock Eye understands that the test will result in McLaughlin competing in the Texas Indy 600 at Texas Motor Speedway on June 7.
