Scott McLaughlin in the No.3 Gallagher Team Penske Chevrolet took victory in race at the Hy-Vee 250 at the Milwaukee Mile on Sunday coming home just ahead of Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda following a chaotic race.
Colton Herta had a great race coming home in third place for Andretti Global. It was another wonderful race for AJ Foyt Racing’s Santino Ferrucci in the No.14 Phoenix Investors Chevrolet who finished fourth.
Marcus Ericsson had a great race coming home in fifth just ahead of Alexander Rossi.
Rinus VeeKay was seventh just ahead of Kyle Kirkwood and Romain Grosjean while Will Power recovered from a spin on one of the restarts to finish the race in 10th. Speaking following the race he said it is going to be a tough ask to catch championship leader Alex Palou to win the championship.
Felix Rosenqvist came home in 11th just ahead of Christian Lundgaard and Kyffin Simpson.
Jack Harvey came home in 14th just ahead of his teammate Katherine Legge who had a great race for Dale Coyne Racing.
Christian Rasmussen was 16th just ahead of Conor Daly while Sting Ray Robb was classified in 18th.
What could have been a disaster for Alex Palou turned out to be a day of salvaging points as he recovered from a mechanical issue and finished the race in 19th albeit 28 laps down.
The Spaniard now has one hand on the Astor Cup as he heads to Nashville, the final race in two weeks time with a 33 point lead in the championship over Will Power.
Linus Lundqvist came home in 20th just ahead of Pietro Fittipaldi and David Malukas while Graham Rahal was classified in 23rd just ahead of Pato O’Ward who retired from the event with a gearbox failure.
Nolan Siegel was 25th just ahead of Marcus Armstrong and Josef Newgarden who retired from the race early.
Next up is the final race of the year in Nashville in two weeks time the 2024 NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Will be crowned.
