Team Penske’s Scott McLaughlin in the No.3 PPG Chevrolet was delighted after he was crowned 2021 NTT IndyCar Series Rookie of the year following the season-ending Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach.
Speaking following the action the New Zealander said:
“I’m really proud of everyone on the PPG Chevy. “I think the car has been awesome, and I finally got it to my liking the last six or seven races. So, I’m really proud of everyone at Team Penske and I’m really excited for next year. This year was a foundation year; all about building and I feel like I’ve done that. Hopefully I can be a little bit further up next year.”
Jim Campbell, Chevrolet U.S. vice president Motorsports and Performance. Said:
Congratulations to Scott McLaughlin on winning the 2021 INDYCAR Rookie of the Year award. “It was impressive how quickly he adapted to racing in the IndyCar Series. Scott combined his incredible skills with an absolute openness to learn every time he drove the No. 3 Team Penske Chevrolet in a test, practice or race. We are so proud to have Scott as part of Team Chevy and look forward to continued success in the 2022 season.”
