The Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team confirmed on Wednesday that they have had to postpone NTT IndyCar Series driver Romain Grosjean’s test that was due to take place next weekend as a result of travel restrictions in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Frenchman who will compete in this weekend’s REV Group Grand Prix of Road America had been due to conduct a test at the Paul Ricard circuit in France however, the Mercedes team tweeted on Wednesday:
We’re disappointed to announce that @RGrosjean's Mercedes test has been postponed because of travel restrictions and quarantine requirements.
We're committed to giving Romain his chance in a Mercedes F1 car and we're working to reschedule the test later this summer. 🙏 pic.twitter.com/nCuBlQCxvu

Grosjean who competes for Dale Coyne Racing with Rick Ware Racing has had a great start to his NTT IndyCar Series career, scoring his first pole position for the GMR Grand Prix of Indianapolis last month and also scoring a podium finish when he ended the race at Indy in second place behind race winner Rinus Veekay.
Grosjean will be reunited once more with his former Haas F1 Team teammate Kevin Magnussen this weekend at Road America after the pair were seen together in Detroit where K Mag was competing in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship with Chip Ganassi Racing and Grosjean was racing for Dale Coyne in IndyCar.
The pair will be on track together for the first time since the 2020 Formula One Bahrain Grand Prix on Friday for the opening practice session ahead of Sunday’s REV Group Grand Prix of Road America, round nine of the 2021 NTT IndyCar Series season. The pair caught up during the Detroit Grand Prix doubleheader weekend last time out and this is how they got on:
