Paddock Eye revealed earlier this week that Mercedes had no interest in Valtteri Bottas however we have now learnt that Mercedes are indeed in talks with Williams over Bottas.

Williams have rejected an initial offer for Bottas however we understand that as part of a new deal, Williams could receive a reducation in the cost of their Mercedes engines as well as Pascal Werhlein to replace Bottas.

It is also possible that with Paddy Lowe set to join Williams, Mercedes would then get Bottas.

It is believed that Mercedes could be set to sign former Ferrari technical director James Allison to replace Lowe.
