The Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team want to offer MotoGP legend Valetino Rossi a test in one of their Formula One cars according to Head of Mercedes Benz Motorsport Toto Wolff.
Rossi has experience of Formula One having tested for Ferrari in recent years and was being considered as a serious contender to replace Felipe Massa for the 2009 Italian Grand Prix following Felipe Massa’s crash at the Hungarian Grand Prix however due to a lack of testing the Italian declined Ferrari’s offer.
Mercedes have also confirmed that they would like to give rally driver Sebastian Ogier a test in one of their cars as part of a promotional test day for the pair.
This year saw MotoGP star Jorge Lorenzo test for the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team. It is understood however that neither Rossi nor Ogier are being considered as a replacement for Formula One world champion Nico Rosberg.
