The McLaren Formula One team announced on Wednesday that they have reached an agreement with the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team whereby Mick Schumacher will join the Woking-based outfit as their official reserve driver for the 2023 Formula One season, which gets underway from March 3-5 in Bahrain.
The news comes just a day after 2021 NTT IndyCar Series champion Alex Palou confirmed that he is committed to Chip Ganassi Racing in IndyCar for this season, having been signed as McLaren’s reserve driver for 2023 in December 2022.
