Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden who goes into this weekend’s ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway with a seven point advantage at the top championship feels the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio has been his best race weekend to date this season.

Speaking to Paddock Eye during a teleconference ahead of the race this weekend, Newgarden said that everything came together for that weekend and that the team worked extremely well and hard of the victory.

Newgarden will drive the Fitzgerald Glider Kits Chevrolet this weekend which he won with earlier this season and is aiming to take a hat-trick of victories having won in Toronto and last time out at Mid-Ohio.

When it comes to the final four races of the season, Newgarden couldn’t choose a favourite but said he is looking forward to Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at Gateway Motorsports next weekend as it is a circuit he has not raced at before and he believes it be exciting after the circuit was repaved.

The ABC Supply 500 gets underway on Friday with the opening practice session on the Tricky Triangle.
