Two time Indianapolis 500 winner Juan Pablo Montoya has revealed that the texted former Formula One rival Fernando Alonso to offer him help and advice as soon as he got the news that the Spaniard will compete in 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil.
It was announced on Wednesday that two time Formula One champion Alonso will team up with Andretti Autosport in partnership with his McLaren Formula One team to contest the Indianapolis 500.
Montoya, who was dropped by Team Penske at the end of last season will return to the cockpit of a Verizon IndyCar Series car for the month May, driving the No.22 Chevrolet for both the Grand Prix of Indianapolis and will race alongside Alonso at the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil believes that the Spaniard will have no problems at all adapting to a Verizon IndyCar Series car.
When it comes to oval racing, Montoya told Autosport the he believes that Alonso will have no problem getting up to speed as the circuit at Indianapolis is similar to Spa Francorchamps which hosts the Belgian Formula One race.
Montoya believes that Alonso will be fine as he is a very good and experienced driver. The Spaniard will get his first experience of the Verizon IndyCar Series when he attends the next race on the calendar, the Honda Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park.
