Former Team Penske driver Juan Pablo Montoya could be on his way back to full time NTT IndyCar Series competition in 2021.

Racer.com reported on Wednesday that the 2015 Indianapolis 500 winner who has spent the last three years competing in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar championship with Acura Team Penske wants to continue racing in 2021 and has held talks with a number of NTT IndyCar Series teams about a return.

Montoya last competed full-time in the NTT IndyCar Series in 2016 with Penske and returned to the team for one off entries at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2017 and 2018 respectively.

It remains to be seen what will happen next season as three time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves is also keen on a full time return to the NTT IndyCar Series in 2021.
