Team Penske’s Juan Pablo Montoya said he was excited to be given the first opportunity to test the new Chevrolet aero kit at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Tuesday. The Colombian who remains with Team Penske was joined at the test by Oriol Servia who is testing the Honda aero kit with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports will conduct all of Chevrolet’s tests.

Montoya, who won the 2015 Indianapolis 500 with Team Penske said that he hopes if the test goes well that he will return to compete in the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil next year.

Montoya formed part of a four car Indianapolis 500 effort with Team Penske after ‘The Captain’ brought in Josef Newgarden to drive the No.2 Chevrolet this year with Montoya taking the No.22 Chevrolet with Fitzgerald Glider Kits to a sixth place finish for Penske.
