Chip Ganassi Racing Managing Director Mike Hull said that mother nature chased us to the pits for the second stop with Scott Dixon during the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park on Monday.
Ed Jones suffered electrical issues which forced the Dubai native to retire from the race. Dixon ended the race in sixth place having made an initial stop which looked good for the rest of the race until the rain set in.
The Iceman went on to finish the race in sixth place just behind Sebastien Bourdais. Speaking to Paddock Eye on Tuesday, Mike Hull said:
Electronic misfortune w/
@Edjonesracing; @scottdixon9 had one-stop strategy well in-hand to be at the front when the 2-stoppers peeled in, as had maintained the interval; Mother Nature chased us to the pits for a 2nd stop.
