Extreme E, the all electric SUV racing series that will make its debut in 2021 using the Odyssey 21 electric SUV announced last week that Chip Ganassi Racing have joined the series along with Andretti Autosport confirmed their first driver on Tuesday.
Extreme E announced details of the championship last week and the sport will each team field two vehicles with two drivers in each car.
The drivers will be mixed with one male and one female driver in each car.
Red Bull backed Catie Munnings becomes the first driver to be announced by the new series, speaking to the BBC Munnings said that Extreme E will see female drivers have the same credibility as their male counterparts.
Munnings also said said that it is great to see that female drivers will be selected for the championship based on their performance and not as part of a publicity stunt.
