On Wednesday, NASCAR Cup Series officials announced that they had issued penalties to Richmond race winner Austin Dillon. Dillon has been deducted 25 points in the championship, and the result will not count towards the playoffs.
NASCAR also announced that the No.3 Richard Childress Racing Spotter (Brandon Benesch) has been suspended from the next three points events through Darlington, September 1, 2024.
NASCAR has also fined Team Penske’s Joey Logano, driver of the No.22 Pennzoil Ford Fusion $50,000 for his post-race behaviour.
