NASCAR has become the first racing series to announce that they will issue fines to their teams if it is found that any team personnel breach their strict COVID 19 protocols as the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity Cup Series and Gander Truck series prepare to return to real life racing starting with Darlington Raceway next Sunday 17 May.
NASCAR have confirmed that all personnel at the track will be required to wear PPE such as face masks at all times while adhering to social distancing measures at all time.
The guidelines have been set to all of the teams involved in NASCAR and breaches of the strict COVID 19 safety protocols could result in teams receiving fines of between $10,000-$50,000. Failure to comply with measures set out by NASCAR will result in personnel been ejected from the facility.
Paddock Eye understands that teams will be restricted to 16 crew members per entry during an event. The first race at Darlington Raceway will be a 400 mile NASCAR Cup Series event to be broadcast on TV behind closed doors.
