Josef Newgarden of Team Penske is really looking forward to his home race and is hoping to carry some of the momentum from his first win of the season last time out at Mid-Ohio to this weekend’s street race.
The circuit is extremely quick and features a number of 90-degree corners and sees the drivers go over the Korean Veterans War Memorial Bridge not once but twice per lap which will make for some entertaining racing over the course of Sunday’s race. Romain Grosjean spent time in the Honda simulator last week to prepare for the race and said that even in the simulator the track surface was very bumpy however the Frenchman said that he has heard that parts of the track have been repaved ahead of the race.
