It was a busy day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Friday as the NTT INDYCAR SERIES teams tested ahead of the 109th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge, which takes place on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
Two drivers debuted for their respective new teams with Alexander Rossi in the No.20 JavaCoffee Splenda Ed Carpenter Racing Chevrolet. The 2016 Indianapolis 500 winner completed the most laps of anyone on track, with 106 laps under his belt. Christian Lundgaard debuted for Arrow McLaren in the No.5 Chevrolet, having completed 60 laps.
Helio Castroneves was in action for Meyer Shank Racing and was joined by Marcus Armstrong on the pit stand of the No.6 Honda.
INDY NXT, presented by Firestone champion Louis Foster, was trackside for his new team, Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, having been announced as one of RLL’s three drivers for the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season. Graham Rahal was on track in the No.45 Honda.
Dale Coyne Racing were due to have Sting Ray Robb in the car on Friday however, a change was made last minute with former Ed Carpenter Racing driver Rinus VeeKay in action in the No.18 Honda.
