Defending NTT IndyCar Series champion Josef Newgarden of Team Penske says he is excited to going back racing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway next weekend as the sport prepares for the GMR Grand Prix of Indianapolis on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.

The Tennessee native who took pole in the season opening Genesys 300 at Texas Motor Speedway last month and finished second behind race winner of Scott Dixon of Chip Ganassi Racing said that he is also looking forward to being a part of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway triple header weekend.

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course places host to the GMR Grand Prix of Indianapolis on Saturday while the oval will host the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Pennzoil 150.

On Sunday, the Big Machine Hand Sanitizer Brickyard 400 takes place on the road course with the NASCAR Xfinity Series taking to the track.

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced on Friday that they intend for the 104th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge to take place on August 23 with 50 percent fan capacity.
