Defending Indianapolis 500 winner Josef Newgarden in the No.2 Shell Team Penske Chevrolet was the fastest driver in Fast 12 practice at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday.

The Tennessee native set a fastest speed of 234.052MPH.

Felix Rosenqvist in the No.60 AutoNation Sirius XM Meyer Shank Racing Honda was second fastest with a speed of 233.485MPH.

Pato O’Ward in the No.5 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet was third fastest just ahead of Alexander Rossi in the No.7 VELO Chevrolet.

Kyle Kirkwood was fifth just ahead of Kyle Larson and Scott McLaughlin. Two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Takuma Sato was eighth just ahead of Ryan Hunter-Reay of Dreyer and Reinbold Racing with Cusick Motorsports who found something extra overnight according to team co-owner Don Cusick.

Santino Ferrucci in the No.14 ABC Supply Homes For Our Troops Chevrolet was 10th while Will Power in the No.12 Verizon Business Chevrolet suffered a plenum issue on Sunday morning.
