After a slight issue, championship leader Alex Palou in the No.10 Ridgeline Lubricants Honda was fourth with a speed of 177.516MPH.
Pato O’Ward was fifth just ahead of Colton Herta and Marcus Ericsson.
It was a great session for Conor Daly who was eighth just ahead of Kyle Kirkwood and Alexander Rossi who rounded out the top ten.
Marcus Armstrong was 11th just ahead of six-time series champion Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda.
Will Power was 13th just ahead of Felix Rosenqvist and PREMA Racing’s Callum Ilott.
Nolan Siegel was 16th for Arrow McLaren just ahead of Christian Lundgaard and Devlin DeFrancesco while Louis Foster was 19th. Graham Rahal in the No.15 One Cure Honda rounded out the top twenty.
Santino Ferrucci was 21st just ahead of Sting Ray Robb and Robert Shwartzman.
Rinus VeeKay was 24th just ahead of Kyffin Simpson and Christian Rasmussen while Jacob Abel rounded out the order in 27th.
